Privacy Policy & POPIA Compliance
How Mogoma Research & Development collects, protects, and processes your personal information in accordance with South African law.
Mogoma Research & Development (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is strictly committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and protect your data in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and other relevant South African legislation.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect personal information that is necessary for the specific purpose of delivering our human resource development, psychometric, and research services. The types of information we may collect include:
- Website Inquiries: Name, email address, and message content submitted via our contact form.

- Assessment Candidates: Biographical data, cognitive and personality assessment results, and medico-legal histories (collected only with explicit, informed consent and under the instruction of our corporate clients).
- Technical Data: IP addresses, browser types, and anonymized usage data to ensure our website functions securely.
2. Our Role: Responsible Party vs. Operator
When we conduct psychometric assessments, recruitment, or medico-legal evaluations on behalf of a corporate client (e.g., your employer or a hiring organization), that client acts as the "Responsible Party" under POPIA, and Mogoma acts as the "Operator".
In these instances, your personal information is processed strictly according to the client's instructions and the specific consent you provide to them. Our handling of this data is governed by strict confidentiality agreements and POPIA-compliant operator contracts. We do not use candidate assessment data for our own marketing or secondary purposes.

4. How We Protect Your Information
We implement stringent technical and organizational measures to secure your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or destruction. These measures include:
- Encryption: All data transmitted via our website (including contact forms) is encrypted using SSL/TLS protocols.
- Access Controls: Personal information is only accessible to authorized Mogoma personnel and registered psychometrists/psychologists who require it to perform their duties.
- Secure Storage: Digital assessment records are stored on secure, password-protected servers with regular backups. Physical files are kept in locked, access-controlled environments.
- Data Retention: We only retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law (e.g., HPCSA record-keeping mandates).
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may only share your data under the following strict conditions:
- With our Corporate Clients: Assessment reports and recommendations are shared only with the specific client organization that commissioned the assessment, and only with your prior knowledge.
- Service Providers: We use secure, POPIA-compliant third-party services (such as Web3Forms for website routing) to facilitate operations. These providers are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or regulatory body (e.g., the Health Professions Council of South Africa), we may disclose information as mandated.
6. Your Rights Under POPIA
As a data subject, you have the right to:

7. Cookies and Website Tracking
Our website does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics tools that profile your behavior across the internet. We only use essential, functional cookies required to ensure the website operates correctly and securely on your device.
